Keeping the team informed about product changes

Product data changes every day: a supplier raises prices, a bestseller goes out of stock, a new product line appears, an import fails. Each of these matters to someone on the team, but rarely to everyone. When information does not reach the right person, marketing advertises products that are gone, sales quotes old prices, and nobody notices the failed import until customers complain.

Who needs to know what

Notify about exceptions, not routine

A message after every successful update quickly becomes noise that everyone ignores. Useful notifications are about things that need a decision:

Use a regular digest for the rest

A weekly summary of what changed works well for information that is useful but not urgent: new products, discontinued products, average price changes by category, competitor price movements.

Keep a log

When something goes wrong, the first question is "what changed?". A log of imports, rule changes and bulk edits with dates answers it in minutes instead of hours.

Make responsibility clear

Every type of notification should have one person who acts on it. A message sent to the whole team often means nobody takes action.

Where YfiFX helps

YfiFX shows what changed with each import: new products, products that disappeared and price changes, displayed on charts over time. Import results let you check whether supplier files arrived and were processed. This gives the team a shared, up-to-date view of the catalog, so purchasing, marketing and sales work from the same information.

Set it up once. YfiFX does the rest
